Joint venture with studený architekti, Terra Florida, AK Závodný. Interiors by GRAU.
A building from the 70s with services for one of the oldest public parks in Central Europe became a maison close, inhibiting public activities in its surroundings. Closed during Covid and re-purchased by the city, its restoration aimed to shine light on its late modernist qualities. Affiliated through its architect to the now demolished Istropolis Center, it exhibits a similarly jagged, cantilevered outline — here, maximizing the potential to interface with the park.

Our intervention brings back the originally intended public amenities. It opens previously cluttered interiors, exposes ceilings, adds an open kitchen and public restrooms. Sliding glass panels increase the porosity of its envelope and reconnect the café with its surrounding landscape.
